Overview

Mechanical Engineering is an important discipline in most areas of contemporary industry.

The BEng Mechanical Engineering programme is designed to provide students with the in-depth knowledge needed to apply contemporary Mechanical technology solutions to problems solving in the industrial environment. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to become a professional Mechincal Engineer, studying specialist applications of computer hardware and software to solve engineering problems. You will gain a thorough grounding in engineering science, an understanding of the theory and practice of the processes and methods of manufacturing, plus an awareness of the requirements of a viable engineering product.

  • Engineering System 3 (15 credits)
  • Reliability of Systems (15 credits)
  • Telematics (15 credits)
  • Innovation & Enterprise (15 credits)
  • Concurrent Engineering (15 credits)
  • Advanced Finite Element Application (15 credits)
  • Project (30 credits)

Part-time: 12 months
(3 hours per day x 2 days per week)

Full-time: 10 months
(5 hours per day x 5 days per week)

Entry Requirements

  • A relevant higher qualification, such as a Polytechnic Diploma or a BTEC Higher National Diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent
  • If English is not the first language, student should normally have reached a level of competence equivalent to a TOEFL score of 550 or above Band 6.0 on the IELTS scale or an equivalent qualification.
  • Student without the required English language proficiency are required to take the General English and English for Academic Purposes program offered by TEG
  • Applicant may be admitted to the BSc (Hons) Applied Business Computing (top-up) degree program but is required to undertake bridging module in order to achieve full advanced standing. The final decision rests with the University of Wolverhampton.
