Student Services Department
The Student Services Department provides the following services to both international and local students. All students are encouraged to meet with our staff to seek assistance resolving problem.
Registration
Before the commencement date, students are required to report to the Student Services Department and complete Student Record Form, and English placement test will be held if necessary.
Update of Student’s Particulars
If there are any changes of personal information, students are required to complete the Particulars Update Form and submit to Student Services Department within 7 days from the date of change.
Course Schedule
All up-to-date course schedules will be put on the notice board. Students also can request for their schedules from the Student Services Department.
Course Materials
Students who have paid for the course fee and textbook & material fee will receive their textbooks and lecture notes at the start of each semester/module.
Course Evaluation
The purpose of the course evaluation is to provide students a voice regarding the quality of their learning experiences which will help us to improve the course effectiveness and teaching quality. The Student Services Department will conduct and summarize the course evaluation in the end of each semester/module.
Request for Letter of Certificate/Transcript
Students who need a letter of certificate or transcript are required to complete the Student Request Form and submit it to the Student Services Department. We will inform you when the letter or transcript is ready to be collected.
Renewal of Student Pass
All students must remember to renew their student’s pass no later than 2 weeks before the expiry date. We will not be responsible if the student’s pass expires or is rejected by the ICA due to expiry upon renewal. Students are required to pay the student’s pass renewal fee in advance, then complete the Student Request Form and submit it to Student Services Department.
Home Leave
Students are not allowed to take home leave during an on-going semester without valid reasons. You must obtain the official approval before going on leave, otherwise the leave will be considered “Absent”. If you are absent from class for a continuous period of 7 days or more without any valid reasons, we will inform the Immigration & Checkpoint Authority and cancel your student’s pass. Please follow these procedures to complete your leave application:
- Fill in the Leave Application Form, which is obtainable from the Student Services Department or TEG International College website, and submit it to the Student Services Department.
- We will inform you of the result within 1 working day, if necessary, an interview will be held.
- Once your application is approved, you are required to submit a copy of your air-ticket to Student Services Department for verification.
- You must return to school and report to the Student Services Department by the date indicated in the Leave Application Form, failing which, TEG International College reserves the right to cancel your student’s pass.
Medical Leave
If you are absent from class or examination due to medical reasons, a Medical Certificate covering the days of absence must be submitted to the Student Services Department within 48 hours, failing which, the MC will not be considered. An exception is hospitalization cases where the MC must be submitted within 48 hours after being discharge from hospital. Please note that we only accept the original copy of the Medical Certificate which is issued by a general practitioner or a specialist registered with the Singapore Medical Council. http://www.smc.gov.sg/PRSCPDS/scripts/profSearch/profframe.jsp
Lost & Found
The Student Services Department provides the lost and found service. Any articles found within the campus grounds are handed over at the Student Services Centre. Students can approach the Student Services Department to check whether their missing article was found.
Deferment of Studies
If you encounter difficulties in continuing your studies, you are strongly advised to communicate with our counsellors for advice and guidance. If you have to defer your studies, an application for deferment is compulsory. Application for deferment will be only considered under the following conditions:
- Medical reasons;
- National service;
- Exceptional compassionate circumstances
Deferment of studies can be granted for a maximum of 12 months. To apply for deferment, students are required to complete the Student Request Form and submit it to the Student Services Department together with supporting documents. We will assess your request and inform you of the result within 21 working days.
Admission to final year
Students who wish to progress onto the final year degree offered by our Foreign University partners, need to undergo a formal matriculation process. The course coordinator will send your application and supporting documents to our Foreign University partners for assessment. Students should understand that the acceptance to our Foreign University partners is at the discretion of the university and their decision is final. On successful matriculation, you will be issued a unique university registration number.
Fee Payment
As required by the Council for Private Education, TEG International College has put in place a Fee Protection Scheme (FPS). The FPS serves to protect the student's fees. TEG International College Pte Ltd FPS is available through HSBC Escrow Account. This scheme is compusory for all local and international students. TEG International College Pte Ltd maintains a Master Escrow Agreement with The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited.
All fees are to be paid into TEG International College Pte Ltd, HSBC Escrow Account No: 141-133454-002
Only the Course Application Fees and Charges for Late Payment of Course Fees are to be collected by Cash, Nets, Visa and by Bank transfer to TEG International College Pte Ltd, OCBC Bank Account No: 503-067-993-001
Other Services
- Close collaboration with parents/guardians for students not exceeding 16 years of age;
- Career guidance programmes to assist students to proceed to higher education;
- Assistance to help international students to adapt to the local environment. For example, general or specialist health services (physiological, dental, mental), drug/alcohol abuse education, problem gambling, sexuality education etc.
